Grant Awards & Gifts
Masala’s vision is to enhance culturally-vibrant thriving African American/Black communities. Its mission is to promote economic and personal empowerment through financial support for programs and initiatives that benefit African American/Black communities in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Masala gives grant awards and gifts to non-profit tax-exempt organization pursuant section 501(c)(3) that have a program(s) and/or services aligned with their mission. Since the circle was founded in 2013, Masala has awarded grants and gifts to the below organizations.
How to Apply
When applying, make sure your application meets the following guidelines:

Demonstrate clear program goal(s) and objective(s) aligned with Masala’s mission

Target audience served is African American
-
Funding request is commensurate with program goals & activities
-
Qualified personnel perform and/or provide oversight for program activities
-
Measurable program outcomes and achievement of goal(s) are planned and reported

Note: Grant applications must be received by the deadline date of December 31, 2022, 5:00 P.M., EST. Please submit completed applications to: <grants.masala@gmail.com>
Masala’s Grant Cycle
October - December: Identify potential organizations for grants and provide non-profits with grant application
December 31: Completed Grant Application due to Masala Giving Circle
January - March: Review of Applications by Grants Committee and Masala Membership
April: Notifications to non-profits of their status
May: Grant Awards Ceremony
